This is called a parking lot. They actually have lines so people park orderly. Backing into a space is not necessary. I don't understand why it is so important to some people.

I always back into a spot. Far easier to see when you're pulling out straight rather than backwards

I heard in a podcast about nuclear power plants the staff were required to reverse park to be able to just drive away in case of an emergency
