Remember back then when hyperbeam and solar beam was both very very rare on screen, and were the only moves that looked like some raw energy laser beam pew pew? So it was kinda epic when OMG IT'S DRAGONITE, will he shoot it??. Now basically every type have such a move, and every fight goes DBZ at some point.

I never liked the design or concept of this. If greninja had somekind of lore that it would have somekind of connection with its trainer I would understand something like this happening, but this was just another bullshit thing Ash could do like the thunder armor with pikachu and swellow, or the way electroweb works in the sun and moon anime. They just make no sense
